Michelle Elliot

Saint Lucian born, Michelle Elliot, is a self-taught artist who has been portraying the colours and imagery of the Caribbean through a number of artistic mediums for over twenty years. Initially known for her vivid scenes done on canvas in acrylics or watercolours, about a decade ago Michelle began applying her vibrant images to ceramics as well producing a full range of functional and decorative pieces. Recently she has added silk screening to her artistic repertoire producing lines of attractive place mats, napkins and other items to compliment her ceramic products.

Michelle is also very well known in Saint Lucia along with her chef husband, Xavier Ribot, as the operators of The Coal Pot, one of the island’s premiere restaurants. Sitting waterside in Vigie Cove on the north side of Castries Harbour, the open air facility features Michelle’s paintings and ceramic pieces creating the tropical ambiance the restaurant is renowned for.

Michelle is also the owner of several retail outlets which feature her creations; the stores, known as Lava Flow and Clear Blue Store, are located at various Duty Free complexes and malls on island. Ever the artistic entrepreneur, Michelle’s latest endeavour is The Pink House. She recently completed the rehabilitation of this 150 year old Victorian mansion located high above Castries on Morne Fortune. Besides serving as a gallery for Michelle’s art, The Pink House will be home to her studio and pottery and silk screen production facilities as well being surrounded by lush botanical garden grounds to add to visitor’s enjoyment.
